I was a little worried when we first put Aidan's chili pepper costume on....But after a few minutes he was all smiles. After a few pics, we headed to the church children/teen Halloween party. Aidan seemed to enjoy himself. We stayed for the children's party and then headed home. Cliff stayed and did his youth minister duties. Tomorrow we are headed to two more parties. I hope he is up for the challenge.

Swine Flu Update

Swine Flu Baby
So we called the doctor when we found out that I had the swine flu to see what we needed to do for Aidan. They told us that everyone is so sick right now that they could only treat symptoms, of which he had none. He developed a cough. We called the doc again and they told to call back if he starts wheezing. Well today he started wheezing, we made an appointment for tomorrow afternoon. Cliff got home from work and listened to his chest and said told me he wanted to take him in to the urgent care facility because waiting until tomorrow made him to nervous. So we did. The doctor told us he was 99% positive it was just a cold but that he would run the test to double check. He was outside the door when he got the results and Cliff heard him say, "Is this the right test, is it really positive?" They prescribed him tamiflu. Cliff went to the pharmacy to pick it up but they are in such low shortage they said it was going to take awhile. I guess our current health coverage (we are switching in November) doesn't cover it and it is like a $100. Cliff asked the pharmacist if it would take longer since we didnt have coverage for it and they said "Oh, you would be willing to pay for it?" WHAT TYPE OF STUPID QUESTION IS THAT????? Sorry.......Anyway......Please pray for our little guy. I will keep you updated.

His cup overfloweth!!
Well I am happy to report that Aidan is feeling much better. No more fever or cough. I, unfortunately, have been in bed for the past 3 days with horrible body aches and a temperature that has peaked at 103 degrees. We are going to make an appointment for me tomorrow, we think it is the swine flu...So be praying about that please.
On a side note, I have been meaning to post this blog for over a month and really don't know why I haven't. Grandpa Mullen entered Aidan in a baby contest in Cuba, Missouri, where he is from, in August. It was through a coffee shop. The way it worked was that they put coffee mugs in front of the babies pictures and you put a penny in the mug that you thought was the cutest. Grandpa Mullen went to the coffee shop to put a couple of pennies in and found that his coffee mug was so full that he had to request that they put another one out for him. :) Anyway, Aidan did win the contest. He won a $500 savings bond and will have his name engraved in their new elementary school. we are very proud of the little guy. Here is the picture that Grandpa Mullen submitted.
FYI...Just got off the phone with the nurse and she said she is 90% sure I do have the swine flu. Pray for our little guy!!

sick baby
We are very much enjoying that the little guy is sleeping through the night, so when he woke up at 5:30 this morning it seemed a little odd. He had a pretty nasty cough and was in general feeling crummy. He finally went back to sleep and woke up around 7:00 with a very mild fever. He wanted me to tell everyone that he's okay, though. He says he's pretty much the toughest baby in the world and it will take more than a cough and a fever to slow him down... then he fell asleep again. So it looks like he'll be stuck at home for a few days.

Last Walk of the Year?
Cliff and I like to go on 3 to 4 walks a week around our local park. We realized this weekend that we will have to put these walks on hold for awhile until the weather gets nice again in the Spring. Sad!!! I grabbed the camera to take a few pics. Here is also a short video I took of Aidan playing in his room tonight!

Small Group
We started small groups at our church last week. Cliff and I are hosting our group this year. This works out well for us because then we can put Aidan to bed whenever we need. Our group meets Sunday nights at 6:00. We love our group. At first I was scared that no group could top our small group from last year, but I was pleasantly surprised that we have once again been put in a great group of Christian men and women. Here are some pics of our second week together.
