It's been a long time coming, but here is a post on the latest addition to the family. You all know that Gazey died back in December. Just a few days after that we took a trip to the local shelter and picked up another pathetic pup. He's now about 9 months old, full of energy, and a ton of fun. Luther has made himself at home here with a spot on the couch and a place in the bed. One of his favorite things to do is hang out with Aidan. They cuddle in Luther's kennel, hang out with each other at nap time, go for walks together, play chase, and generally have a great time with each other. Here are a few pics to show you what life with Luther is like.

Birthday Presents
I recieved some great presents this year and am very excited about them.
Although this does not come out until November 20th...Cliff pre-orderd it for me. I can't wait to get it. I love all the books and thought the movie was great.
Glee has become my new favorite show. I loved doing musical theatre and show choir in high school and think the show is just hilarious. This one was from my parents.
This one was a bday present to myself. It will still be about a month til it gets here but I can't wait to start scrapbooking with it. I had a friend that got me a cartridge for my bday so that will be fun and I picked a couple that I plan to get on ebay as well.

All by my lonesome
So I drove Aidan and Cliff to the airport at 4:45 this morning for their 3 day trip in Missouri. I was without Aidan for the first time on cliff and I's anniversary. That was hard. Now being without him for 3 days will be so wierd. I cleaned the house and did all the laundry so that I could really enjoy my freetime when they were gone. But now I am just trying to figure out what I am going to do in this time. I have a new client tonight and the "Office" so that should occupy my time this evening. Tomorrow I go in for my every other week full body massage (since I sprained my back.) And then I plan on grabbing some sushi and watching one of my birthday presents (Season 1 of Glee). It should be fun!!! But lonely. Please pray that my scary experience from last week doesn't ruin my alone time for the first time in 15 months.

Croup
So our little guy has croup...:( He has lost his voice and when he coughs it sounds like a seal barking. We have been doing the standard steam in the bathroom and taking him out in the night air. It seems to be getting a little better. Hopefully it will get much better quickly because he is supposed to fly to see Cliff's parents on Thursday. We had to cancel his last trip because he came down with the swine flu. So if you would say a a prayer for my little guy. On a side note he is also getting his second tooth in which I'm sure does not help.

A Not So Fun Night
Last night I decided to keep Aidan home from church because he was really cranky and thought it would best to put him down at his normal bedtime. Cliff left for church and I warmed up a bottle to start putting Aidan down. I went into the nursery with a bottle and Luther (our new dog) came in as he usually does to lay on the rug while I put Aidan down. It was of course dark in the nursery and the lights were on in the hallway while the door was closed. When we moved into our home, the hardwood floors had been refinished, I beleive there was carpet before. So because of that there is about a two inch gap between the bottom of the doors and the floor. About five minutes into rocking Aidan, I heard a noise and looked down under the nursery door and saw someone walk past our door. Luther of course went CRAZY!!! I then heard whoever it was run for our backdoor.
I had no idea what to do. I absolutely froze. I thought should I go out the window or make a run for the door...( I didn't have my cell phone with me). After a couple of minutes (or possibly ten seconds but what felt like 10 minutes) I was able to think more clearly. Luther had stopped barking and had even laid back down on Aidan's rug. So I felt that the best thing to do was try and go next door and call the police from there. I opened the door with Aidan in tote, and ran as fast as I could out the door. My neighbor wasn't home. So i decided to go back inside and call the police from there. They stayed on the phone with me until the police actually arrived. There were four policemen total and they got there in about 2 minutes, which was very nice!!!!
The part that was really hard for me was that anyone I would have tried to call to help me in this situation was at church with their cell phones off. I finally called the direct line of the church and let it ring for about 5 minutes until someone picked up. They went over and got cliff and he was able to make it home literally one minute. (We live 6 blocks from the church). The police had already done their report by then. Cliff was of course paranoid the rest of the night. But I told them the police were very percise. They went all around the backyard and in our garage and checked with our neighbors and continued to patrole the area for quite awhile.
All in all it was pretty scary. I told Cliff I think it was actually scarier to see someone walk by your door then to actually see them but I don't really know. My lesson from this experiece.....Regardless if you are home or not....ALWAYS LOCK YOUR DOOR!!! OH and I will always have a dog!!!

Daily Bible Reading
As a young working mother, I have found it incredibly difficult to get in my daily bible reading. It always seems that as soon as I start Aidan needs something, the phone rings, or I am just too exhausted to concentrate. I came across this audio recording of the new testament and it has become a huge blessing for me. My commuteto work round trip is around 40 minutes everyday. I pop the is in and get about 10 chapters a day. It has been wonderful. I especially like it because it is read by a variety of people in character which makes it much more intersting, easier to understand and to follow along. If you are having a difficult time getting your daily bible reading in I would certainly recomend this. I noticed that they also have made another recording for kids as well.
