Trick or Treat

Cliff and I decided to take Aidan trick or treating this year. We weren't quite sure if he was old enough but we decided to give it a try. Because he is so little we wanted to make sure we took him to a place that was safe and that wouldn't scare him. We decided to go with our good friends Natalie and Lucas and their two girls. They are in the airforce and live on base. This ended up being the PERFECT place to take Aidan. He loves his two friends Charlie and Norah so he really enjoyed being with them. Also being on the base taking him around was so much fun. Everyone participates there. Every single house had their lights on and were eager to give out candy to the kids. They airforce also put safety people at about every other block. Finally, they had people from the firestation come out with their trucks and lights and had a little show for the kiddos. Aidan did great. He picked up trick or treating right away and went for about an hour. He was very good with his please and "dank you." Cliff caught one on camera.

36/37 Week Check Up

So what is one of the worst things a pregnant woman of 37 weeks can be told at her appointment. "We are changing your due date to one week later." I am 50% effaced but am not dialated at all. So my doctor says he thinks he got the due date wrong. What is frustrating to me is that I have been telling him this all along but he always disagreed with me. I would double check with all the time and say "are you sure it isn't the 21st.?" I would ask a lot because my parents were trying to figure out when to fly in from Kansas. Right now they are scheduled to arrive on Saturday the 13th which my doctor originally told us they would for sure get to meet her because he would schedule an induction on the 15th. Of course the most important thing is that she is healthy and she is. If she is due the 21st and comes when Aidan did, she would still be born before they were here. So anyway I am anxious to see how it all unravels.

With Aidan coming at 38 weeks we are guessing Ryla will come about the same time but we will see. To finish off the "nesting" mode in pre mommy hood, I believe I have finished my checklist. Hair Doodles

So I feel I have finally made the final step in preparing for a little girl. I have never been a big fan of pink or of the hair doodles you often see on babies. I think this is one of the reasons I am scared to have a little girl of my own. I don't like girly things and so in order to embrace the fact that I need to start.....I painted her room pink and broke down and went and got some things for her hair today. Just as I thought....everything was pink and no reds or purples. I will have to look around a little more. But this is what I found to start her off.
